World Editor Tutorial

The 3D Editor (3D Editor) is the core sub-program of Amulet, where you can navigate and edit the entire Minecraft world.

Entering the Editor

After opening a world following Opening a World, click the 3D Editor tab on the left side to enter the 3D editor interface.

Camera Controls

  • Left mouse button: use the currently selected tool (e.g. select, place blocks)

  • Right mouse button drag: rotate the camera

  • Mouse wheel: zoom in and out

  • W / A / S / D: pan the camera

  • Space / Shift: move up / down

Basic Workflow

  1. Select the Select tool in the toolbar

  2. Click and drag in the world to box-select the region you want to operate on

  3. Once the selection is made, use the operations in the Edit menu: * Copy - copy the contents of the selection * Paste - paste the copied contents * Delete - delete the blocks inside the selection * Fill - fill the selection with a specified block

  4. If you make a mistake, use Undo / Redo

Saving Changes

When you are done editing, click the Save button to write the changes back to the world file. Note: saving directly modifies the world file, so backing up beforehand is recommended.

Note

The 3D editor is still under active development, so the interface and keyboard shortcuts may differ between versions.
